The most common way we help our customers

From our experience, we've found we generally can help small businesses the best. We're a smaller operation ourselves and have found over the years that our services "work" the best when we're working with like minded, smaller operations. However, a small business is a hard thing to define. When you ask a CEO of a 50 person company if they're small, they'll say yes. Conversely, you know that a sole proprietor is as small as they get.

The point is, smaller, tighter businesses, with a core group of staff members who understand they need to communicate better with their customers, are the ones that we tend to have the most success with. Of course, this depends on the project you need completed, as well as the complexity of the work involved.

 

Who we can't help.

Regardless of the type of business you operate, there's one simple truth that so many folks usually don't accept: there is no perfect fit for everyone.

Here at Longshore Creative, we're not afraid to admit we are not the right company for everyone.

We know what we do well, and we also know our own weaknesses. We know when we're talking to a potential customer and if they're a "good fit" or a "bad fit". Generally, we've found if you or your company have any of the following thoughts, feelings, or needs, we probably aren't the best company for you to hire.

 

If you're looking to hire a company to "do" your marketing.

We believe in the "teach a man to fish" mentality, and teach folks to look internally and leverage the power of their own employees to market their own company. No one knows you and your company better than you and your company. If you want to hire a firm to handle all aspects of your marketing for you, we're not the right company for you.

 

You're looking for someone to "do" social media for you.

Yes, we can and do help companies develop content that's awesome to use on social media platforms, but we are not here to help you run your social media program. We don't have the manpower, and social media marketing itself is not one of our strong points.

 

It's your way or the highway.

We are 100% honest with our recommendations, so we hope you'll be open to some constructive feedback. We feel obligated to let you know if we think you're taking your project in less than ideal direction since you're paying for our expertise. If you are someone who doesn't handle feedback well, our professional relationship probably won't be very fruitful.

 

Price is the #1 deciding factor in who you're hiring.

There are plenty of "competitors" out there who charge less than us, as well they should. If you're only basing your decision on price alone, we're not going to be a good fit. This is how we make our living, so we charge a fair rate for our services and level of expertise.

 

You don't fully understand or believe in the need.

We get plenty of potential customers who talk to us because they heard they should do something, but don't fully buy into it themselves. We want to work with companies who understand they need to communicate better with their clients, regardless of the medium. If you're "eh" about the need to hire experts or are content to do things yourself as you see fit, we probably aren't your best bet.
